Participant Wins National Design Contest
Mayor Fontaine Declares May 27th, Chistina Lauzon Day
Yesterday Mayor Fontaine joined RiverzEdge in celebrating the accomplishment of Digital Photography Studio artist Christina Lauzon. 18-year old Lauzon submitted a label design (pictured left) in a national contest to be used as artwork on bottles of Torani syrup. Her design was chosen from a pool of over 1,000 submissions.
In celebration of her award, Torani – a syrup company based in San Francisco, CA – threw an Italian soda and pizza party for RiverzEdge participants and made a $200 donation for art supplies to RiverzEdge.
Mayor Fontaine was on site to congratulate Christina and declare May 27th, Christina Lauzon Day! Mayor Fontaine expressed his love for the arts and his admiration for the work that RiverzEdge is doing on behalf of the City of Woonsocket.
Congratulations to Christina and congratulations to RiverzEdge. This is the second time a RiverzEdge participant has won this contest – 15-year old Latia Drayton in the RiverzEdge Visual Arts Studio won the competition in 2007.
