Teen Artists Paint Bike Racks for Permanent Installation

Youth in the ArtWorks studio painted "Art Deco" bike racks, each in a style inspired by a historically significant artist, for Way to Work's Transportation Fair. This exciting first-ever-event launched by Family Resources Community Action, brought together vendors, workshops and families galore, to explore transportation options, money savings and alternative energy vehicles like scooters, bikes and veg oil powered mobile homes!

The bike racks, fabricated by The Steel Yard, are the first of a series of planned permanent art installations to be designed and installed by RiverzEdge youth in conjunction with other partners on behalf of the City of Woonsocket. RiverzEdge is a lead agency partner working with the City to promote arts-led economic development strategies.
