About Us

RIVERZEDGE is a youth development program giving educationally and economically disenfranchised youth in northern Rhode Island paid employment in the arts and a voice in the community. Based in Woonsocket, one of Rhode Island's poorest communities, RIVERZEDGE ARTS PROJECT does more than divert teens from destructive behaviors; it engages them in a lifestyle of disciplined effort, creative expression and economic self-reliance.

RiverzEdge makes a real difference.

We do not merely focus on the troubles of youth or give them temporary distractions; we introduce participants to the academic and business worlds in a meaningful, hands-on way and offer real-world experience in creativity, business economics, management, and decision making. Partcipants are encouraged to find their artistic niche within our five creative studios. Here they learn the pleasures and rewards of hard work, through commissions and bonuses for their work that is sold. This produces life transforming change for the individuals and for their communities.
